Annotations for Evaluation of Creative Assets and Production Skills

Film Annotations – What I believe I did well within the film production process is the fact that it is raw and unedited footage displaying how a product (in this case a jacket potato) is made within a food store and how it is served direct to consumers. I believe I used good use of angles and effects to make the video appealing and engaging towards viewers. What I believe I did not do very well on with my film production is I could have made recordings from two different viewpoints and angles so viewers could get a different view of me preparing the spud and placing the fillings inside. This could have made the video more appealing as it would have added a different perspective onto the video.

Audio Annotations – The audio recording I created does a great job of showing off the deal by offering a half price special and comparing it to something familiar like a chicken burger. This price comparison makes the new salt beef filling seem like an actual bargain and creates a bit of urgency to purchase it. But one thing I could have done better is being more clear about who this offer is for. The script for this audio content is fun and energetic, but it does not really say if it is aimed at local workers or lunchtime regulars. Adding a bit more context or a relatable scenario like pitching it as the perfect “Monday lunch” would make it hit home more for certain individuals. If the audience was clearer the message would draw in the right crowd at the right time.

Blog Post Annotations – One of the best things about my creative writing piece is how well it uses descriptive language to bring the food to life. Words like “crispy skin”, and “golden, bubbly top” really help you imagine how the dish looks, feels and tastes. It is the kind of writing that makes your mouth water and keeps you reading, which is exactly what you want in a food blog. On the other hand, it could be even better with a bit more personality or a story behind it. Currently, it is all about the food which works well but adding a personal touch, such as where the idea came from, a memory linked to the dish would make it more relatable. A bit of storytelling would help readers feel more connected and turn the recipe into something more like a shared experience.

Web Content Creation (Mood Board) Annotations – The mood board does a great job showing just how creative and versatile jacket potatoes can be. There is a wide range of styles from classic baked versions to loaded, gourmet and globally inspired options, which makes the product feel exciting and appealing to lots of different people. There is potential to offer something for every culture and character. That said, one thing that i missed is a strong sense of branding. There is no consistent logo, colour scheme or font style across the images, which makes it harder to imagine this as an experience you can find at “Bagels & Spudz”. Without those branding elements, the mood board feels more like a collection of random ideas than a clear direction for a shop. Adding those design details would help tie everything together, making the brand feel more professional and helping customers remember and connect with it.
